Experience the addictively delicious taste of Vietnamese shaken beef! This deep savory marinade is made with seasoned soy sauce paired with rich oyster sauce. Packed with umami and bursting with bold Asian flavor, it’s guaranteed to leave you craving for more. This marinade is traditionally enjoyed with cubed steak over a bed of rice or salad, a dish otherwise known as “bò lúc lắc”. It’s also the perfect way to shake up your chicken dishes!
PREP: Cut steak of your choice into 1 inch cubes. (sirloin, ribeye, or filet mignon recommended).
MARINATE: Mix beef and marinade together in a large bowl and marinate for 10 minutes up to 4 hours. 1 tbsp for every 8 oz of meat.
SAUTEE: Preheat pan to high heat and add 1 tbsp of oil. Add meat and sear on all sides by shaking the pan until beef is medium rare.
BUTTER: For the most authentic flavor, add a tablespoon of butter to the pan and mix before removing from heat for a richer sauce.
* TIP: Make sure not to overcrowd the pan! Shaken beef is best cooked in small batches.
